TIREDNESS AND WORK

Tiredness is an important factor in whether you stay at work during the treatment or go back to work afterwards. The better the patient feels and the better they are coached, the easier it is to go back to work. But working is not easy when you are extremely fatigued – as is often the case just after the treatment. GPs don’t always know much about this subject or don’t know what to suggest to their patients. The employer and colleagues are often equally uninformed. Good advice is to make a come-back plan with your employer or, if you are self-employed, to make a plan for yourself for several months that will tell you how to go back to the hours you worked before you fell ill. It is best to start slowly and every two or three weeks work a few hours more. Experience shows that a plan B with a slower pace is often necessary.
